37 | The Titans Of 2020
Hi, I’m Yath! Thank you for being here. You are receiving this because you signed up to my weekly newsletter on self-growth and mindful productivity.
Hey friends,
As we bring what has been a turbulent year for many of us to a close, here are my favourite pieces of content from the past 12-months. But, in a more reflective manner, I’ve put together 21 life lessons to carry forwards into 2021 and I’ll be sharing this in my new YouTube video tomorrow — make sure you’ve subscribed!
Let’s get started!
Favourite Book
The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari — Robin Sharma
I’ve been recommending this book to everyone that I meet these days. Many of the lessons from this book relate to asking oneself — is this what I really want to do? Is this making me happy? Am I living to my fullest? For me, this book helped me appreciate that wealth can come in forms other than financial. You also have health wealth and time wealth. People often lose sight of health and time whilst pursuing money. This is not something I desire to do.
Favourite Article
The Top of My Todo List — Paul Graham
A short yet impactful piece on the regrets people often has in their last days. Something that I actioned immediately after reading this article was to change the way I viewed my daily tasks and implemented the same 5 things to the top of my todo list that Paul mentions in his article so that I could be reminded each morning of what is truly important in life.
Favourite Podcast
Naval Ravikant on Happiness and Reducing Anxiety — Tim Ferriss Show
This episode is like the transfer of pure wisdom, zero fluff over the course of 2-hours (or 1-hour if we’re 2x gang). But, I think to truly appreciate this episode you must know who Naval is first (check out his Twitter or see below). In this episode, Naval breaks down what it truly means to understand what is making you anxious and how different your output/life could be if you tapped deep and ruthlessly enough to fix central issues within your life.
Favourite Documentary
The Social Dilemma — Netflix Original
I watched this documentary earlier this year and it really opened my eyes on the various ulterior motives big tech companies may have and all the mischievous ways in which our own data can be used to trap us further and further into the black hole that is social media addiction. It’s only 90-minutes long and it’s super eye-opening.
Favourite Leader
Naval Ravikant — Founder of AngelList and Thought Leader
Where do I begin? His Twitter feed is a gold-mine for all things personal wealth and happiness. Famously known for his investments in numerous IPO-reaching startups (Initial Public Offering — aka companies that go public), with over 70+ total exits. He’s also the founder of AngelList. For starters, I would read the book containing all of his wisdom in one place: The Almanack of Naval Ravikant.

This Week’s Quote 🎯
“Society tells you that success is getting the most powerful position possible,” Wozniak said. “But I asked myself: Is that what would make me happiest?” ― The Third Door by Alex Banayan
This Week’s Recommendation 🚀
Documentary 🍿 — The Law Of Attraction: Fact Or Fiction?
This is an incredible YouTube documentary-style investigation into the pseudoscience and illogical history behind the Law of Attraction by James Jani. What’s more incredible is the way in which James delivered this with excellent production value and detail to attention, both in his investigation and story-telling.
