Hi, I’m Yath! Thank you for being here. You are receiving this because you signed up to my weekly newsletter on self-growth and mindful productivity.

Hey friends,

This is my last newsletter of the year and what an exciting journey this has been so far since starting in April 2020. I want to keep this short and reflect:

Be proud. This year we’ve faced challenge after challenge and still adapted. That wasn’t easy.

I’ve been reflecting a lot over the last few days and I realised this.

Whilst life has been very different this past year, we’ve adapted in so many impressive ways: we are more connected than ever online, entire schools have been taking place over video calls, flexible-work patterns are emerging, work from home isn’t just some cool-new thing anymore (it’s here to stay) and much more.

More so than this, this was my crucial realisation:

Whilst the bigger picture may look miserable when we look back at this year, the micro picture is on the whole fantastic for many of us.

I’m not saying the pandemic is a silver-lining in any way and just like you, I can’t wait for it all to settle down. But, many of us have seen personal-growth sky-rocket.

Many of us have found time to pursue new interests, rekindle old passions, and importantly spend more time with loved ones at home. I for one am extremely glad about my personal growth this year — I am happier and more confident as a direct consequence of stepping outside of my comfort zone, time and time again.

If 2020 wasn’t the year for you, if things didn’t go the way you wanted, and if you’ve had to battle sad moments, then I hope 2021 is a better year for you.

Here’s a quote to summarise this year:

“Once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.” Haruki Murakami

With that I wish you all the best in 2021 — I can’t wait to share with you my first article of the year next week, which is about why I’m reading fewer books!

Thank You!
